How to use DD shinker

Hello!

I explain how to use DD shinker today.
This is boat fishing technique. Also you can use on pier or wharf. But, I think the boat is much better.

1. The short cast from boat.
2. The jig sink to bottom. You can feel bottom easy because sink angle is the vertical and sink speed is fast.
3. 2-3 sharply rod action.
4. keep line tension for 10-15sec. Your jig make the slide action when your boat drifting.
5. If you can't feel a bite, sink to bottom again.

You'll be able to feel a bite when waiting. And, this technique need some structures. For example sea weeds, rocks, slop, bump.

Fishing in SA

Hello!

I went to SA last week. I tried squid fishing on boat.

The SA have a lot of squid. I think easy catch squid because most people doesn't use a rod.

The morning was good condition. But, It was getting windy.

The DDsinker is better in these situation. Very good work.

If you facing same situation please try DD shinker. You will get good result.

I didn't write this blog  recently. sorry...

I went to Tasmania and Perth. I couldn't use the internet.
I tried fly fishing at Tasmania. But, I'm beginner of fly fishing. First, I had practice for casting. It was difficult. I couldn't good casting at first. Then, I got good casting because I was taught from good teacher.
I caught some good trout!!

The fly fishing is very fun! I'll start fly fishing when come back to Japan.
Then, I tried squid fishing at Perth. But, I couldn't catch good squid. I caught only a small squid because the condition was windy. The windy day is not good for squid fishing.

I used EGIOH Q SOKU 3.5 IBA. It's deep type(fast sinking). That is effective for  a windy day.

I will go to Adelaide tomorrow morning. See you, next time!

Fishing yesterday

Hello!

I went fishing with bryan yesterday morning and afternoon.
We caught the Estuary Perrch in the morning.

We used Maria vibration MV-1 40S. It's good work for the Estuary Perrch.
The looks is similar to the Australian Bass.

Then, we went to another area with Greg this afternoon. Greg is fishing guide.
We went fishing by his boat.

We caught some different target fishes by Maria hardbodies. There were bleam, Flathead, Snapper.

The Maria crankbait MC-1 S38F was very good work. And, also new shallow crank prototype.
The vibration was good work for Snapper. Then, Greg lost good size a bleam. He used  Maria pencilbait MP-1 55F.

Yesterday result

G'day mate!

I learned this  English of Aussie recently.

I went to Cronulla rock area yesterday afternoon. It's the usual point.

There was low tide yesterday afternoon.

I choose EGIOH Q LIVE 2.5 RROC because very shallow.

The answer was return soon. I caught a first squid.

Then, I was move next point more deep than this point.

I caught good size squid!

I used same jig. I thank my lucky stars!

The EGIOH Q LIVE was good job! The clear body is sometimes effective for low activity of day time.

Bream & Bass fishing

Sorry, I couldn't write the blog recently.

I went the bream and bass fishing in Gold Coast yesterday. I had good result.

This day was cloudy and water colour of dirty.

I used Maria pencilbaits MP-1 55F in this morning.

I cought some Australia Bass.

Then, I used new Maria crankbaits prototype. This is a more shallow diver model than MC-1 S38F. I tried test fishing. I caught some bream and bass.

This new crank is very good action.

Then, I caught good size bass at last.

The lure was Maria MS-1 D45SP HTM colour. This shad is very good twitching lure. It's my favorite shad.

I had good fishing.

Squiding in sydney

Hello!

I came back to Sydney in Friday. And, I went squid fishing at afternoon.

The squid was very high activity at this time. I caught 2 squids in a short time.

I chose a bright out cloth colour and a rainbow under tape colour because these color is effective to high activity.

I used Yamashita EGIOH Q LIVE 3.5 BON.

Then, I used Squid Spike because I eat squid to dinner.

I took movie. It's "How to use Squid Spike"

1. You stick it between eyes of squid.
2.The colour of the body changes to white. It's a sing of death.
3.You can eat a good taste and a tender squid.

Boat Squiding in Melbourne

Hello!

I went boat Squiding in Queenscliff.

Now, there were spawning season of squid. A lot of squid come to shallow area.

We went to sea weeds area of depth 3 to 4m. There were best of spawning season because squid lay eggs to seaweeds.

We caught some squids. We used Yamashita squid jigs.

This day was effective to natural and dark green colours.

I could see a lot of bait fishes. And some anglers came here. Maybe fishing pressure was high.

We ate these squids on boat. We cooked BBQ. The fresh squid was very tasty.

If you have chance, please try it.

Sunday Squiding result

Hello!

I went Squiding on boat with Graham in Sunday. I try same points when usually cast from on the rock.

It was same situation in Saturday. The high tide, calm and warm.

The answer was return soon when arrived here. We caught some squids. But average size was small.

This situation was effective under 2.5 size. I used EGIOH Q LIVE 2.5 BOKP.
But I wanted big size squid. I change 3.5 size a jig and cast cross to deep area.

Then, I caught big size squid by EGIOH Q LIVE 3.5 BPN. The big squid followed when this photo squid was fight time. If you are facing same situation. I recommend a follow cast soon. You will be able to get these squid.

This day was squid activity was high. We caught a lot of squid around here.

Saturday morning

Hello!

I went Squiding at around Cronulla.

It was perfect day for Squiding because calm and warm.

I caught a first squid when just 3rd cast. It was small size. But I was very happy.

I waited to this moment for a long time. The jig was EGIOH Q LIVE 2.5 RROC.

Then, I caught next squid when a jig cange.

This one was a little bit big. The jig was EGIOH Q LIVE 3.5 RPA.

I think this point good when around high tide time. And you will be able to catch short time because usually squid make school.
I got rid of a slump this day. I had nice day.
Then, I had good result today also.
I will write this report tomorrow.

Friday afternoon

Hello!

I went fishing with Bryan. The target was Bass.

We arrived to point when the front of sunset.

We chose Maria pencil MP-1 55F.  The topwater is effective when getting dark.

This point was river. The feeling was very good. There had a lot of structure.

We started fishing to each other at different point.

Then, Bryan got farst fish by Maria pencil.

The colour was PIOC. The top water game is exciting because all process is visible.
Then, Bryan got 2nd fish when more dark.

This one was a little bit big than last fish. It was same lure and colour.

He had good result.

Me?

Please don't ask me that question.

I'm still slump.

This afternoon fishing

Hello!!

I'm staying at Coffs Harbour now. Maybe I'll stay around here in this week.

This afternoon I went Bream fishing at river.

Sometimes bait fishes spring to surface. I felt this situation was good to Top water lures.

Then, I was a select Maria MP-1 55F from my box.

I was casting to under the pier. Long time stay, 5 walk the dog actions, Long stay again...

Suddenly a bream attacked my lure. And hook up.

But, a line was break easy soon because rub to a pier.

I lost chance of only.

I felt chagrin today.

This morning

I went Squiding. This morning was calm condition. I hope good condition for Squiding.

But, when I was arrival fishing pont I couldn't believe my eyes.

Today was big swell condition.

I caught nothing of course. It was good lesson.

Friday afternoon

Hello,

I had not good result  recently. The poor fishing result is continue.

I went fishing by canoe again.

Then, I caught only small Tailor again.

And lure is same also. Maria MS-1 D45SP GBOH.

Life has its ups and downs.

How to choose a jig colour.

Hello,

Today I'll tell you how to choose a suitable jig colour for different situations.

The jig colour is an important point for Squiding because squid's eyes are very developed.

Squid can recognise colour.

The colour choice depends on water colour, brightness and squid activity.

Squid jigs have 2 different colours.

1. Under tape colour and 2. outer cloth colour.

1. Under tape colour relates to the time of the day you are fishing. For example Red and Glow under tape is very suitable in low light conditions. Gold, Silver and Rainbow under tape are suitable for day time conditions.

2. Outer cloth colour choice depends on the water colour and squids activity. For example pink and orange outer cloth are suitable when the water is dirty or when the squid are active. (These colours are good first choices) Natural colours are suitable in clear water or  where there are many baitfish. Olive, brown, purple ans blue are suitable when the squid are nervous and wont react to bright pink and orange colours.
Please refer to the following table for best colours for different conditions.

Squiding basic method

The weather is getting worse today. I couldn't go to fishing.

Today I will imform you about the day time Squiding method.

The basic method is as follows.

1.Cast for sweet spots.
2.Feeling to touch the bottom.
3.Pick up slack line.
4.1 or 2 sharp jerks.
5.Wait for the jig to fall.
6.When the jig falls then the squid will bite.

If you couldn't feel any bites please return from 5 to 1.

This is basic method in day time.

Afternoon fishing

Hello,

This afternoon I went fishing by canoe.

The conditions were calm. It was a parfect day for the canoe.

The feeling was very nice beacuse of the beautiful fishing point. there were oyster rocks ,weeds, banks and mangrove.

Many bait fish splashed and I could see some target fish.

But, fish condition was low activity

Sometimes I need to pause between each action when working the lure.

The result was only 2 small Tailor.

I was using a Maria hard body. I used MS-1D45SP GBOH.

The result was poor but, I had a good day because the feeling of the place was good.
